The WADder.net Portapack: Version 3.9.4
Summary The WADder.net Portable Package, better known as the Portapack, is my way to stop noobs from continuously complaining about nonworking programs, when it's something stupid like the Framework not being up to date, or the Forms not being installed. (It's also for pure convenience. Which would you rather have - Tons of uncompressed files and folders totaling about 600MB for your WADder tools, or two compressed files that total about 350MB?)
Details This packages all five WADder tools - WADder, MyMenu, Extract Everything, EWES, and NUS WAD Packer - plus the SoftMii Theme converter, Base.app Getter, and ShowMiiWADs into one .exe file, and a .dat file which includes the Forms, the Framework, the Python Dependencies, and the Visual C++ runtime (Everything that the programs need to run). When the user opens the Portapack, he or she is greeted by the Launcher GUI, which is built off of MyMenu's GUI. He then selects which program he wants to run, and it will open.
Theoretically, this should work on every PC, but this theory is untested. Since it was built using Windows XP Service Pack 2, it may simply refuse to run on older Windows Systems. It is not recommended to run this under Wine or similar, as it rarely works, and may result in bricking CSM/WAD files.
Known Bugs
There may be a couple problems on 64-bit systems. If so, it's out of my control. Some 32-bit apps don't work on 64-bit computes, even in the Portapack
Any bug that is present in one of the packaged apps is also in the Portapack.
Changelog

A couple code cleanups/bug fixes
3.8

A few bug fixes
Updates the URLs used when updating
3.6.1
Fixes an odd bug where if your settings are set to update and show More Programs, WADder or CustomizeMii wouldn't launch.
3.6
ShowMiiWADs updated to version 1.2
Fixes updates (new URL)
Reverts Thinapp to 4.0.3. Windows 7 users please don't freak out. I'm going to be uploading a version compiled with 4.0.4 soon, but I'm mainly focused on the 4.0.3 release.
"Replaces" WADder with CustomizeMii. However, you can choose to launch WADder instead in the Settings menu. If you're not using Windows 7, please redownload Portapack.dat and Extras.dat, since they use Thinapp 4.0.3.
3.5
The Pack is recompiled with Thinapp 4.0.4 in order to finally add the long-awaited Windows 7 support. You must also update Portapack.dat and Extras.dat to work with Windows 7
3.4
EWES updated to version 12
Launching of EWES now honors your sound play settings.
Adds pbsds's fix for WADder sound editing
Launcher icon update - EWES and ShowMiiWADs now show their new icons
New default BGM
3.3
Updates ShowMiiWADs to version 1.1b
New easter egg
3.2.4
Adds a Portapack-exclusive fix for Extract Images not working if you don't have libeay32.dll
3.2.3
Fixes a bug that causes an update dialog to pop up even if you have the latest version.
3.2.2
Reverts MyMenu back to 1.3.1 - My mod just didn't work.
3.2.1
Fixes a small bug in MyMenu (it's actually not my bug! ). MyMenu 1.3.1 didn't clean up its work directories. This doesn't matter if you close the Portapack, but let's say that you want to make two themes in a row. It would make a bricker. It's fixed now.
New BGM that I really like. I might be keeping it.
3.2
Fixes bug - The launcher now correctly displays ShowMiiWADs as 1.0 (funny how I made the same mistake twice)
New BGM
Adds a Portapack exclusive - a slight modification to MyMenu (I'm calling it MyMenu 1.3.2 Unofficial) which allows it to support base.app files with Yaz0 compressed ASH files.
3.1
ShowMiiWADs updated to 1.0
Bug fixed - Launcher now correctly displays EWES as v11
New BGM
3.0.1
Fixes a couple bugs that 3.0 introduced
Adds a new setting - start with More Programs menu open
First update that after downloading through Portapack, you can choose where to save it.
3.0
Many stability improvements
EWES is updated to v11
New BGM
(And now for the good part ) Support for Extras.dat - This .dat, unlike Portapack.dat, is not required for the Portapack to run. Instead, it's used as an optional feature. The Extras menu button in the Portapack Launch will search for extras.dat. If it's found, you can launch Chooser.exe (a program inside extras.dat) that lets you choose between and launch tons of extras that make life easier for the noob (or who knows, maybe the advanced) Wii modder.
2.6
The Base.app Getter now supports Wii menu 4.2 bases.
New setting - You can choose whether or not the Portapack checks for updates at launch.
2.5.1
Fixes several bugs that version 2.5 unfortunately introduced. Some examples being the pause button not working if More Programs is hidden, or settings not saving if your main drive isn't "C:\"
2.5
Settings. You can now customize the pack a little.
New default BGM
2.4
EWES updated to v10
New BGM
One new easter egg
2.3
ShowMiiWADs is updated to 0.3
This is the first version that can be downloaded with the Portapack's update feature. Let me know how it works out!
2.2.1
The Launcher's update checker will now download an update if it finds one.
2.2
In order to allow for easier updating, the pack is once again split into two files - Portapack.exe and Portapack.dat. Portapack.dat is a one-time download (compatible with all future versions). All updates will be made to Portapack.exe, which considerably lowers the size of the file that you need to download every time.
Pack is now compiled on Windows 2000, hopefully adding some more compatibility to XP users.
ShowMiiWADs 0.2 by Leathl is added
EWES is updated tov9
New easter eggs (Launcher cursor) and background music
2.1.1
New background music
Tooltips in the GUI (Hover over any icon)
In the about window, you now have two buttons to get the background and about music if you want them.
WADder 3's icon is now used as opposed to mine. (WADder 3 is still not included. I'll wait for a full release before I package it.)
About window now correctly displays EWES as v8.
Fixed bug where the Pause button didn't work before hitting "More Programs" at least once.
Fixes the graphical glitch in the More Programs menu, where one part of the shadow was darker than the rest.
Sped up the fade in animation (but for some odd reason, it's slower on some computers )
You can no longer see the outline of the icons in the launcher - they now blend in perfectly.
2.1
EWES v7 is updated to EWES v8.
The launcher GUI now plays music. The song will probably change with every release.
More improvements to the update checker.
2.0.1
Two major bugs in the update feature are fixed. sorry about that
2.0
Update checking! This great new feature automatically checks if your Portapack is the latest version or not. If it isn't, a dialog box will pop up telling you to update before the Launcher's GUI loads.
Redone GUI - While still being based off of MyMenu, the GUI now has a show/hide option for the More Programs Menu.
New About window! - Click the question mark in the top right to bring up the About dialog. This contains one of the new easter eggs - the full, looping version of the Credits music from USB Loader GX
WAVosaur can now be launched (in order to make looping sounds)
Extract Images option removed - Just use the included Extract Everything.
New exit button in the Launcher - the old one was ugly.
Improvements to WADder source code (better sound processing)
Links to the MyM and base WAD databases (Inside WADder and MyMenu)
Another Easter Egg, can you find it? (Hint: It's in the launcher - not in any other programs)
Improvements to the Base.app Getter.
1.5.2
NUS WAD Packer 1.0 is replaced with NUS WAD Packer 1.1
The Launcher GUI is redone a little. Rather than launching MyMenu to access additional programs, the launcher now has a "More Programs" section.
1.5.1
I've added full support for the NUS WAD Packer. In MyMenu, the icon in the far bottom right that says "Base.app" will launch the base.app getter from 1.5, but the icon to the left of that which says "NUSD" will launch the WAD Packer without any automation.
Noob protection has been added to the Base.app getter. Before, they could put anything for the menu version, even text. Now, it checks to make sure that it's a correct version which can be themed (289, 417, etc)
The bug where a tmp folder is left on your desktop from the base.app getter was fixed.
1.5
MyMenu 1.3 is replaced with MyMenu 1.3.1 in order to fix the unfortunate zetsubou bug.
EWES v6 is replaced with EWES v7.
Xuzz's Python NUS WAD Packer is added. (You as the end user can't use it in its normal way, though)
Thanks to the NUS WAD Packer, I've added an autoit script that will download a specified system menu version and extract the 01.app from it (noob base.app getter). It can be accessed by running MyMenu and clicking on the icon in the bottom right corner.
1.4
EWES v5 is replaced with EWES v6.
The Softmii Theme Converter (.csm/.app to .mym) is included. It can be accessed by running MyMenu and clicking on the icon in the bottom left corner.
1.3.2
Two under-the-hood oopsies fixed
The GUI now has an exit button
I have an easter egg hidden in the pack somewhere - can you find it?
1.3.1
Adds an icon to EWES's GUI. I hate the Autoit icon.
1.3
MyMenu 1.2 is replaced with MyMenu 1.3
Not released - 1.3.1 was made before I even uploaded this.
1.2
Adds EWES by pbsds to the package. Can't believe I forgot this
The GUI of the launcher is changed a little. First, it has an EWES button. Second, Extract Everything will now launch by default rather than Extract Images
1.1
Source is compiled in a new way to make it a single .exe like my previous portables
More portableness, now that there's no dependency on Portapack.dat
1.0.2
The pack is recompiled with the latest version of Thinapp. Maybe addresses Windows 7 issues? Not sure.
1.0.1
Fixes most issues that I found on my own, first version released to the public.
1.0
Not released to the public, unstable and unusable.
Extras.dat Extras.dat is an optional addon to the Portapack with programs that aren't normally included. These extras vary, but include GUI versions of command line tools, the Wii.cs tools, a forwarder maker, and more! It can be download from within the Portapack by pressing the Extras button in the More Programs menu or from the link below. (Note: If using the link below, be sure to download the correct version!) I'm always adding more extras, so if you'd like to request one, just make a post in this topic!
Download
Please take the time to read the following:
If you are a first-time user of the Portapack, or are updating to a version greater than version 2.1.1 for the first time, you need to know a little bit about the two files that you'll be downloading. Portapack.exe contains all of the apps from the pack, however it will not run without Portapack.dat in the same folder. Portapack.dat is what has the Forms, Framework, etc. If a new update comes out, youDO NOT NEED to redownload Portapack.dat with every release - ONLY Portapack.exe will be updated! Portapack.dat will only be updated if a major change is required (For example, it was updated for the first time with the release of Portapack 3.5 in order to support Windows 7).
Confused about the two versions? Readthis post for some clarification
